What is Wantz.it?
Wantz.it is a handy online tool that lets you create a "wish list" so that everyone can know what you want – or, rather, what you'd like them to get you.
With wantz.it, nobody will ever have to get a gift they didn't want.

What makes Wantz.it better than other wish list out there?
Wantz.it is universal. That means you can add ANYTHING - if it's on the web, you can add it to your list.
Wantz.it is easy. Once you've registered, you can add things to your list in just seconds, without having to navigate away from the page you're visiting.
Wantz.it connects with the other web applications that you use everyday - like facebook, twitter and delicious.
And with wantz.it you get your own exclusive URL - YOURNAME.wantz.it
Sometimes new items take a while to show up on my list. Why is that?
If you're using Twitter or Delicious to add a new item, it usually takes 5-10 minutes to appear (although it can take up to an hour in some cases). That's because wantz.it first has to check the Twitter and Delicious API before it can add the selected item to your list. If we did that every second, for all our users, we would overload their API, and probably get booted.
I'm having trouble updating my list via Twitter. What's the problem?
Your twitter account must be on the public timeline for it to work with wantz.it, so check to see whether you've checked the "protect my updates" box in the account settings menu. If that doesn't fix the problem, please drop us a line.
Can I only add stuff from e-commerce sites?
No! You can add ANYTHING YOU WANT – if it's on the web, you can add it to your list.
But why would I add something that isn't for sale?
Say you're browsing on Flickr and you come across a photo of a beach that catches your attention. You add the photo to your del.icio.us and include a comment about how you could really use a day at the beach. You tag it 'dowant'. It appears on your wantz.it list. Somebody gets the hint and arranges a birthday trip to the beach. There are all sorts of ways of dropping hints – get creative!
